Travelling, living and working in Asia sparked a life-time interest in Asian art and culture and, in particular, in the different writing styles and Chinese calligraphy. The practice of calligraphy encourages mindfulness and concentration. It is a continuous journey of exploration and learning that constantly leads the artist to discover new aspects of this beautiful art form.

As a self-taught artist, Angelika has been lucky to start her journey learning from renowned scholars such as Kazuaki Tanahashi. She regularly visits Southern China for an on-going exchange of ideas and to study and seek inspiration for her work. She is currently based in Shanghai for work.
